Our founder, Pastor Hareld Davis, III

Pastor DavisGrowing up in rural Naaser, Booneland, Hareld Davis, III grew up with 12 other brothers (8) and sisters (4).  He was the next to the last child born to Hareld Davis, Sr. and Susie Mae Davis on April 10, 1962.

He had an interesting childhood, competing with 8 boys for the attention of their father. Although Hareld, III was named after his father, along with his oldest brother, their father did not give his two namesakes any special attention.

Hareld, III participated in all kinds of sports, but excelled in baseball. He was offered a baseball scholarship to Elmsmere State College in 1980.  He was a starter all four-years.  While attending Elmsmere State College, he met his wife, Tanya Douglas. They were married on February 9, 1984.

Sis. DavisWhen Bro. Davis moved to Elmsmere, he united with the Broad Street Pentecostal Church under the direction of Eld. Jeremiah Craig.  Bro. Hareld, as he was called, was appointed as a youth leader and quickly became one of the most popular youth leaders at the church.  He was asked to take over the youth ministry of Broad Street.  Bro. Hareld felt unqualified because he did not have a vast religious knowledge and background.  With great reservation, he turned the position down.

Bro. Hareld played semi-pro baseball for three years before God called him to the ministry.  In 1987, Bro. Hareld enrolled in J. C. Tolbert Seminary.  He was ordained as a minister in 1988, by Eld. Jeremiah Craig.  He graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1993.

Pastor Davis began New Life in Christ Pentecostal Church in Elmsmere, Booneland with the blessing of his pastor, Eld. Craig.  On his death bed, Eld. Craig asked the membership of the Broad Street church to unite with New Life in Christ, under Pastor Davis' leadership.  Eighty-three percent of Broad Street did as Eld. Craig suggested.

Pastor Davis was voted in as the Vice-President of the North Headquarters of the Greater Buelahland Fellowship in 2000, by unanimous vote.

Min. Hareld Davis, VIPastor Davis works tirelessly as the leader of New Life in Christ and the Greater Buelahland Fellowship.

He is the father of three boys; Min. Hareld Davis, VI, who serves as the youth pastor and twin boys Mark and Marcell, both of whom are active in the youth ministry. His wife Tanya works by his side in both of his ministries.  Pastor Davis believes in the natural family because it supports the church family.  His family stands as an example to all those who visit New Life in Christ.
